17 Jul It’s Summer Time, Summer Time, Sum-Sum-Summer Time in the Mountains!!
It’s one of my favorite times of the year in the mountains of western North Carolina! I love the warm (not hot) temperatures, the sunny days, the evening showers (this is an alpine rain forest, you know), the gorgeous rhododendrons, the happy people running from place to place and the holiday feeling that all this activity promotes. There are more people in town than I can remember in the past year or two, and it seems that real estate is on the up-swing in terms of sales and activity all around!

There are so many wonderful activities to participate in during the summer months. The outdoor enthusiast has hiking, biking, rafting, kayaking, fishing, boating, swimming, skiing, golf and tennis and so much more! If you’re like me, you’ll enjoy an evening of sunset watching with your favorite beverage and loved ones! There are arts and crafts fairs, concerts in the park, restaurants galore and all kinds of other diversions. The views are stunning, the temperatures are mild, the air is good!
Mountain Biking
Cashiers, NC is my all-time favorite place to live year round. In spite of being in the mountains, the winter temperatures are also quite mild. Last winter, we didn’t really even have a winter at all. Under normal circumstances, we’d have several snows of 2 or 3 inches, but they’re gone the next day. The snow plows also take really good care of us, so you never feel trapped. Winter is a wonderful, slower time here. You can rest up, relax and enjoy the slower pace as you’re preparing for the busier spring and summer months.
Winter can be breath-takingly beautiful!
